We Do Orthotics!

Our feet play an important role in our everyday lives. What happens when we take a step can affect our ankles, knees, hips, and even our low back. Many leg, foot or back problems can be helped by changing how your feet hit the ground. Orthotics are used to correct these issues and have been proven to work. However, sometimes a patient doesn't need orthotics and just changing the type of shoe will help. If you have questions about if you need orthotics or maybe just want recommendations for correct shoe type, we can help.

We also deal with fittings for diabetic footwear, custom orthopedic sandals, The Barefoot Specialty Orthotic, and orthotics for golf, hockey, and for use in high-heeled shoes. Not everyone needs custom orthotics - some people need just a shoe change or a over-the-counter insert. We can help steer you in the right direction.

Spinal Decompression

Decompression Table

Our back program continues to be a success with our patients. To speed recovery for these patients, Bodywise has added a targeted spinal decompression unit to the clinic. This is a machine that decompresses the intervertebral space, relieving pressure to the vertebral structures and providing a negative pressure to the disc, allowing reduction of a disc bulge or herniation. This machine allows us to target the specific vertebrae level (either cervical or lumbar) involved with the patient's problem. For example, with 10-15 degrees of traction, we are able to target specifically the L5 S1 disc in order to reduce a disc bulge, treat sciatica, relieve muscle spasm, help with facet issues, or improve disc herniation pain.

This treatment has been approved by the FDA and is proven to help with acute and chronic spinal conditions. In addition to being able to treat all the lumbar vertebrae specifically, we can also target specific cervical levels using this machine. This specific targeting of spinal conditions is the main advantage over traditional traction and the current trend in treatment.
